"Artemis Fowl" author Eoin Colfer's short story "A Big Hand for the Doctor" will be first in a series of eleven. The debut episode of "Doctor Who" aired on November 23, 1963, and the commissioning of these eleven short stories coincides with the television series's 50th anniversary
year.

Each will star a different incarnation of the Doctor, each author will feature in a YouTube video released on the 11th of the month, and each digital ebook (or "eshort") will be released on the 23rd.

A paperback anthology is also scheduled for publication in November.
