The book is a good read but not that great. It's a poignant tale of how a man who is funny by nature finally gets to see the real, dark world. The book revolves around its themes of love and loss, friendship and belonging of three men, Jewish Libor, an ancient former journalist whose adored wife of
many years has died, and two middle aged men, his former students. It's not a very easy read, and gets a bit tiring after a while. But it provokes you tot think and questions your previous set notions. Maybe a shorter storyline would have made it a great book.
