I am taking a break from ‘Why I love animals more than humans?’ series (am not even sure you guys remember). Reason: A growing phenomenon in the fashion world and courtesy the sales, my growing preoccupation with clothes and shoes and belts and bags. As I sit down to write the blog, I am unable
to think of pets, rather my mind goes, ‘that Audrey Hepburn Zara dress’ ‘those red Charles & Keith pumps’ ‘Mac kajal’ and something something.
The phenomenon I am talking about is kink-laden Fifty Shades trilogy (about which I have written in Brunch) inspired fashion. As we all know by now, the book is an international bestseller; it is beating all the other books’ records. And now the ripples are to be in seen in the pop culture across the world; there are Fifty Shades vacations and there are Fifty Shades homes. Movies inspiring fashion is old story but I haven’t come across too many books doing the same. Of course, you could dress up and imagine Sophie Neveu of Da Vinci Code would wear stockings and dress and black pumps and conjure an image of what Hermione in Harry Potter would wear. But this book is inspiring serious fashion. Single-piece bondage inspired swimsuits with little details like ropes and strings are being launched by designers (even professional swimmers are wearing them) and Herve-Leger bondage dress is so much more in demand. A few ways you can join the gang is by picking up (now) satin and lace chemise, sexy red pumps and handcuff accessories, leather corsets, garter belts, waist belts that look like ropes, kinky tights to wear under the skirt, bodysuits and everything aromatic and scented. Everything geared at a fulfilling sexual fantasies is the order of the time. Go and check out what the sales have to offer.
