A terminally-ill cancer patient committed suicide by jumping off the second floor of a state-run hospital in Kolkata on Sunday, an official said.
Sixty-two-year-old Sheik Nizamuddin, a resident of Baruipur in South 24 Parganas, was admitted to the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital in
an advanced state of throat cancer, a top hospital official said.
"He jumped from the window of the second floor of the building this (Sunday) morning and died on the spot," the official said.
