The Congress will bring out a list of complaints against the UP government and hold a series of public meetings culminating in a maha rally in Lucknow in February next year before the assembly elections.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and union ministers will tour large parts of
the state and hold about 15 rallies in December.

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday spoke to media persons about the party's plan for the coming months.

He, along with union minister for steel Beni Prasad Verma, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Congress Legislature Party leader Pramod Tiwari, gave tips to the party's candidates.

In a closed-door interaction, the candidates were asked to collect information about alleged corruption on the part of ministers. All the bits of information will be incorporated in the chargesheet.

The candidates have been asked to launch an offensive regarding the shortage of fertilisers and power in the state.

They have been given a two-page format to make an assessment of the progress on strengthening the organisation.

Singh said: "We are collecting information from across the state about corruption in the BSP-led government. A chargesheet against the Mayawati government will be prepared and a maha rally will be organised in Lucknow in February 2012."

Singh said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would hold rallies in the state. Congress president Sonia Gandhi too might address people if her doctors permit her to do so, he said.

Singh said the Mayawati government had used public funds to install not only her own statues but also those of her family members.

"We have no objection to the installation of statues of Dalit icons. But we do have objection to the installation of statues of the chief minister (Mayawati) and her family members with public funds," said Singh.
