Tamil Nadu beat Mumbai by a huge margin of 174 runs in the quarterfinals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy to set up a semifinal clash with Madhya Pradesh. Riding on S Badrinath’s century (105 off 92 balls, 8 fours, 4 sixes) and Abhinav Mukund’s 80 (9 fours, 1 six), Tamil Nadu set a target of
303 after losing six wickets. In reply, Mumbai were all out for just 128 as debutant M. Prabhu picked up four wickets for just 34 runs.

Opener Sushant Marathe (64) was the only one to come up with a substantial score as the other established batsmen  — skipper Wasim Jaffer (9), Rohit Sharma (1) and Ajinkya Rahane (3) departed early.

Brief Scores: Tamil Nadu 302 all out (Badrinath 105, Mukund 80) beat Mumbai 128 all out (Marathe 64, Prabhu 4-34, Balaji 3-27) by 174 runs.
