The cricket board's chances of persuading Sahara to stay on as India team sponsors appear dim with the latter sticking to his decision not to continue as team India sponsor. However, Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy said on Tuesday he was open to retaining ownership of the Pune
Warriors.

The BCCI president N Srinivasan and Roy are expected to meet soon to sort out issues that erupted after an angry Sahara decided on Saturday to pull out as IPL team owners and sponsors of the national team.

"I don't know what will happen in the future..., but this is certain, players should play. Secondly Pune people are so excited for the first tournament there," Roy told CNN-IBN.  But he added that with the group having already committed Rs1,000 crore on social welfare schemes, it may not return to sponsor India.
