West Indies' Dale Richards receives treatment from a trainer during an ODI cricket match against South Africa in North Sound, Antigua.
Richie Richardson’s thoughts ahead of the India-Windies tie.
Richardson on Team India
Being right at the top in both Tests and ODIs means they have the quality. But we know in the World Cup you can have a bad day and anyone can beat anyone. They have good variety
in bowling, they have three good spinners who can win matches on their own. They have variety in the seam attack and their batting goes without saying.
Where India is vulnerable
Playing at home and the crowd expecting too much, you never know that it can have a negative effect. India are a top side but anyone can beat anyone in the Cup. We believe we can win.
West Indies team
We have matchwinners in Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Shivnarine Chanderpaul has done it in the past, Kieron Pollard, Kemar Roach. The two young guys came in the last game, Russell and Devendra Bishoo and they did well. We are feeling good.
Wicket
It depends on how well the batsmen will apply themselves. The game against England was not all that high scoring, but I think it’s a better wicket than the total achieved on both sides.
