Talented Delhi Daredevils mediumpacer Siddharth Kaul on Thursday pointed out that even someone like Chris Gayle is a "human being who can make mistakes" and said he will not try anything extra against the Jamaican in their Indian T20 League match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in New Delhi on Friday.

"He is a human being and if I can bowl a good delivery, he can get out. If you bowl a bad ball, he will smash it hard," Kaul told mediapersons on the eve of Delhi's final home match against Bangalore.

When asked if the name Gayle itself means that he needs to plan out something special, he replied, "I will only try to execute what I know best."

Kaul stressed that Daredevils, despite their poor show, haven't been down mentally.

"It's not that we are down mentally. We are in a positive frame of mind and are focussed on winning. Unfortunately, only one team can win and we hope that we can play good cricket. It's just that we haven't clicked during close situations," Kaul said.

when asked about his up-coming India A tour he said: "I don't think too far ahead. I have my targets set but I don't think about whether I can get selected for Champions Trophy or for India A tour of South Africa. It's the selectors' job."

Meanwhile RCB's left-arm spinner Murali Karthik said that Daredevils could be "wounded tigers" and can only hurt their chances.

"Even in our dreams, we can't think of taking DD lightly. They are a good team, but unfortunately, this season hasn't gone well for them."

Karthik admitted that partially, they are dependent on Gayle.

"We depend on Gayle for the kind of starts only he can give us. Having said that, we have players like Virat (Kohli), AB (De Villiers), Cheteshwar (Pujara) who have done well." He admitted that Miller's innings was an effort they weren't really ready for.

"It was something that you can't be prepared for. Even when Gayle played that knock (175 not out), I was feeling for the bowlers. I am a bowlers' man and it's difficult to see them get hit. As Anil (Kumble) rightly said, 'we are cattle class'."

Asked if the performances of Rahul Dravid, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane reitirate the fact that a batsman can be successful playing proper cricketing shots he replied, "Look, in any form, proper cricketing shots will always fetch you results."

About RP Singh's poor performance at crucial junctures, Karthik defended the medium fast bowler from Rae Bareilly.

"Look, this can happen at crucial junctures. This is such a format where you will either be a hero or a zero."
