The impasse over which team the three Trinidad and Tobago players - Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard - will play for in the Champions League T20 tournament continues even after the date for submitting the final list passed on September 10.
The trio has been named in
the final lists submitted by both T&T and their respective Indian Premier League outfits.
Narine, Bravo and Pollard turn out for Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians respectively in the IPL and all the teams are confident of having their services in the CLT20. The CLT20 organisers will now speak to the trio to know their choice.
"The three players are in our final list but that doesn't mean they will play for us. It will depend on what they inform the CLT20," T&T Board's CEO Suruj Raghoonath told the HT on Tuesday.
The CLT20 is expected to put out the team lists in the next 24 hours. From all indications the players will turn out for their IPL teams in the tournament to be played in South Africa in October.
The Caribbean nation's minister of sport, Anil Roberts, had said in July that he would try his best to get the trio to play for T & T. "We understand the difficulty of the situation the players are in, and the fact that they are contracted to the IPL teams and they have to see the financial aspect of the contract too," the CEO said.
