A confident Mumbai will take on Tamil Nadu in quarter final of Inter-Zone Vijay Hazzare one-day tournament’s knock out match to be played in Rajkot on thursday at the Madhavrao Scindia cricket ground.
Mumbai, who have won their pre-quarter final match by beating Punjab with a narrow
margin of three runs are hoping to show descent performance to enter into semi final but are not taking their opposition lightly.
“The match is going to be a good contest as the opposition has always been a good side and they have played good cricket so far this season”, Wasim Jaffer captain of Mumbai said.
He said his team has a descent bowling attack led by Ajit Agarkar while batsmen also want to do well and entire team is hungry for success.
Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Wasim Jaffer and last match centurion Parag Khanpurkar would carry batting responsibility while bowling department would be spearheaded by Ajit Agarkar to be supported by Usman Malvi, Iqbal Abdulla and Abhishek Raut. Tamil Nadu is playing their first game in the knock out tournament. Murli Vijay, captain admitted that the opposition has an advantage of playing a game but his side is looking forward to do well in the quarter final, he said.
Murli Vijay and Subramaniam Badrinath will be the main stay in batting for Tamil Nadu while Laxmipathy Balaji and Yo Mahesh will be operating new.
