Above the mess: The elevated Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Metro will be built over the crowded Andheri-Kurla Road.
After a successful debut last year, Wassup! Andheri is back with four days of entertainment for the city’s culture vultures. In addition to performing arts, fashion, literature and music events, this edition of the fest will see the suburb host street plays, a photography exhibition, art
installations and stand-up acts. The four days of the fest will also give aspirants an opportunity to interact and connect with veterans from various fields.

“Abhishek Bachchan will inaugurate the festival and celebrities such as Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Basu, Rajat Kapoor, Adhuna Akthar, Niharika Khan, Joy Datta, Arzan Khambatta and Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi will interact with the crowd this year,” says Ajay Modgil, organiser of Wassup! Andheri.

This edition will also see over 15 workshops on various topics, such as theatre, art direction, pet management, anti-ageing, self-defence and extra-sensory perception.

Some special workshops for children, focusing on clay modelling, pottery and painting, will also be held.

“Love it or loathe it, Andheri today is at the heart of Mumbai, and Wassup! Andheri is undoubtedly the biggest event on its social calendar,” says Bosco, a Bollywood choreographer.
