Despite being subjected to heinous crimes in the past few months, women in the Capital continue to serve as an inspiration for everyone with their dauntless courage. Celebrating this spirit of Delhi women is a dance performance, titled ‘Our City of Angels: a dance…a dream’.
Through their 90-minute act, the troupe — Anamika’s Dance and Arts Academy (ADAA), offers their prayers for the manifestation of a city where the woman is recognised and treated like an angel by one and all.
“The academy was established with the belief that dance is an affirmation of life through movement. The city has been an abode to many beautiful women who have subtly awakened and enlightened souls around them by simply being alive. The group will be performing to honour the spirit of these women and to celebrate the completion of 15 years of ADAA,” says Anamika Singh, founder of the academy.
The age group of the 35 women performers varies from six to sixty years. Undeterred by the hardships faced in life, they will be seen expressing their joy of being alive when they come on stage.
