Beginning with a blast

Celebrating the spirit of women to rise and fight against abuse, Delhi University’s Miranda House college themed its annual cultural fest, Tempest, as Sehar — a new beginning.

The two-day affair was attended by students from different colleges. Highlights of day one were Halla Bol (street play competition), face painting contest and the western dance competition. The dance contest saw 21 teams from the various participating colleges performing on medleys. Next up was DJ Akkie, who spinned some Bollywood and English tracks, making the students groove.

The second day was high on more entertainment and masti, as RJ Suhas and RJ Sufi from Fever 104FM interacted with the crowd.

The fest concluded with Bollywood singer Shilpa Rao’s act. Despite technical glitches, she managed to enthrall the audience with her hit tracks such as Ishq Shava, Yaariyaan, Aahatein and English Vinglish.
