The Capital is getting ready to host a photography exhibition by young artists from across the globe. Photography On Street and Travel (POST), an exhibition to be held in Singapore on February 10, will travel to Delhi in March, where the work of young artists will be put up for sale.

The
50 artists taking part in the exhibition are the winners of an online contest that attracted entries from over 23 countries. Manik Katyal, the Delhi-based proprietor and editor-in-chief of Emaho, the online magazine behind POST, is confident about the success of the exhibition.

“We have support from big names in the photography fraternity, such as Australia-based photographer Sam Harris, Majid Sayeed from Kabul, Dayanita Singh, Mahmadieh Mirhabibi from Iran, Nafise Motlaq from Kuala Lampur, and Mimi Mitsou from Italy.” He adds, “Since we are primarily youth-powered, the panel of judges who will curate the exhibition will be young as well. Emaho has organised events of its own in the past, and has been associated with a number of others, so it will try its best to make this enterprise successful too.”

POST aims at the convergence of creative fodder from across the globe and bringing young talent on a common platform.

“We are launching the print copies of Emaho magazine at the Singapore launch. Along with that, we are also hosting our second international photo walk at Lahore in Pakistan, as well as an art exhibition called Bahaar at the Dal Lake in Kashmir,” says Katyal.

Framed facts
Halbart Bai from Texas, whose photos will be displayed, is only 15. Nabil Ghandi’s entry for the contest will be used as the cover for the first print edition of Emaho magazine. The revenue from the sales will go directly to the photographers. The magazine won’t take any proceedings from the sale.
