Abhishek Kapoor is set to go international. The Kai Po Che director was spotted with Hollywood actor-producer Stephen Baldwin at a five-star hotel in the city recently. “They had a long chat over lunch and were discussing the possibility of making a film together. They are keen to co-produce an Indo-American film,” says a source close to Abhishek.
The two also discussed the possibility of roping in both Indian and Hollywood actors for the project, though they didn’t reveal any names. “Stephen also added that if the script is in place and if he feels it is a good fit, he doesn’t mind acting in it himself,” adds the source.
The two directors also spoke about the possibility of multiple film projects, one of which Stephen wants Abhishek to direct. “They made some concrete plans for the film and Stephen said that it would be nice if Abhishek could direct one of the films,” reveals the source.
Their conversation was not just restricted to planning future film ventures. “They also chatted about how Indian cinema has changed over the years and how Hollywood movies have had an influence on Bollywood,” says the source.
Despite repeated attempts, Abhishek remained unavailable for a comment.
Priyanka Chopra dined with actor Jon Hamm and producer Palak Patel; discussed international films, music and more
Amidst her super-busy schedule, it looks like Priyanka Chopra managed to take some time out for a dinner with friends, which include Hollywood hot property and actor Jon Hamm (who shot to fame as the lead character of the TV series, Mad Men) and Hollywood producer Palak Patel (known for producing big-budget fantasy films like Snow White And The Huntsman, 2012, and Oz The Great And Powerful) on Saturday night (May 11).
“She dined with them at a popular restaurant in the city. They talked for over an hour,” says a source close to the actor. Although Priyanka knows both Jon and Palak from Los Angeles, the trio were apparently engaged in conversation that went beyond customary greeting and catching up. “They were heard discussing her international music album and also if she was looking at doing a Hollywood film in the future,” reveals the source.
Palak, an American producer of Indian origin, is believed to have earlier expressed his interest in making films with Bollywood actors. “He even discussed some of the projects that he is looking forward to working on, as and when he finishes off the ones he’s doing right now,” says the source.
“They had a long chat of views about changing Indian cinema and how Bollywood is increasingly going international too,” adds the source.
