Buzz is that actor Aishwarya Rai was south filmmaker Rajeev Menon’s first choice to play the protagonist in Menon’s ambitious biopic on legendary Carnatic singer, MS Subbulakshmi.
However, Aishwarya was reportedly not too keen on the script and didn’t revert to Menon and his
team.
Eventually, Menon cast Vidya Balan for the role.
