Son Of Sardaar features Ajay Devgn in surd avatar, along with Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt. Salman Khan will be seen in an item song in the film.
Ajay Devgn is a happy man. The latest news is that the box-office profit of Son Of Sardaar (SOS) is at par with that of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ). And now, the actor plans to throw a party to celebrate this news. A source close to the actor says, “Ajay is happy with the way the film is
faring. After the theatres reopened on Monday, it has continued to do steady business.”

According to the source, what the actor is more thrilled about is the fact that the film has done well irrespective of the number of screens dedicated to it. “SOS has 500 theatres less than JTHJ has,” the source tells us.

Apparently, this is also the first time that any Ajay Devgn film has generated such promising collections so soon. It is also being credited for getting Ajay his biggest overseas opening so far.

Ajay, who is currently in Hyderabad shooting for Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala, will arrive in the city next week to host a lavish success party. Apart from the SOS cast, various eminent personalities and Ajay’s friends from the industry are expected to make an appearance.

Revealing trade information, exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi says, “SOS has a large mass appeal, therefore, it has had an edge in the B and C centres (non-metro cities) from day one. The single screen occupancy (footfalls per screen) of SOS is also better than JTHJ after the weekend. It has stayed steady over the week because those who couldn’t get tickets (due to the limited screens) have all returned this week. But JTHJ too will pick up again over the weekend as families will return to the cinemas.”

With his famous bike stunt in Phool Aur Kaante (1991), Ajay Devgn literally arrived in Bollywood with a bang. The film was not only a hit, it also got Devgn Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
