He hasn’t been seen in a live performance in three years, but now Akshay Kumar will take to the stage on January 5. The actor will do a special act at Mumbai Police’s annual show, Umang 2012. “Yes, Akshay is confirmed to perform at the show. He has been away from stage performances for a long time,
but since this is his comeback act, the idea is to go all out with the planning and presentation. So it will be high on stunts. He is doing the show only out of love for the men in uniform,” says an insider from the organising team.
Incidentally, this year has already seen Akshay playing a policeman in his blockbuster, Rowdy Rathore. Despite repeated attempts, the actor remained unavailable for a comment.
