Rowdy Rathore (2012): Akshay Kumar's comeback action film directed by Prabhudeva opened to a huge response. The film entered Rs 100 cr club. He starred opposite Sonakshi Sinha in the film.
Akshay Kumar is riding high on the success of Rowdy Rathore and wants to make the most of his Rs. 100 crore club membership. The action hero will be engaging fans in a unique way for the release of the theatrical trailer of his upcoming film, Oh My God! (OMG). An insider, close to the
development of the film, reveals that, Akshay, along with his co-star Paresh Rawal, is going to unveil the trailer this Friday at one of the biggest dahi handi events in Mumbai — the Shree Sankalp Prathishtan Dahi Handi in Worli.

Confirming the news, a spokesperson from the film, says, “The song Go govinda has become a rage and has received a great response. Yes, we are planning to launch our theatrical trailer at the dahi handi celebration in Worli.”

Interestingly, Akshay plays a modern-day Lord Krishna, who rides a motorcycle, in the film. The event is organised by the minister of state for housing, Sachin Ahir and his wife Sangeeta. And every year he makes it bigger and better by not only increasing the number of participating mandals, but also by getting celebrities to attend the do.

Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhu Deva in Go Govinda.

When contacted, Sangeeta Ahir says, “Yes, Akshay Kumar is coming to the event. This year we have an attractive prize, which is dedicated to Mumbaikars and to keep the spirit of the festival alive. Considering the competition between the mandals, we consider the event a sport.”

Sangeeta also confirms the attendance of another actor,  Emraan Hashmi, at the festival this year. The Dirty Picture (2011) star will attend the dahi handi celebrations to cheer for the female participants. Emraan says, “What better way to cheer the spirit of this festival. I’m excited that it’s gopikas and not gopis that I’m cheering for.” Apparently, Hrithik Roshan will also make an appearance at the do.
