Akshay-Sonakshi's Joker has opened to not-so-impressive reviews. The film directed by Shirish Kunder released on August 31.
Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha match steps with the ensemble cast of Shirish Kunder's Joker in the latest yawn-inducing number Ye Joker. Even the appearance of aliens in the beginning of the song didn't help. In fact, the aliens might take offence if this number is screened along with
the movie in space.

Akshay Kumar plays the role of Raj/Agasthya who's working on a top secret project for creating a device to communicate with aliens. The film revolves around a village Paglapur that didn't find a place in either India or Pakistan at the time of partition.

The village had the distinction of housing the largest mental asylum in the region and in the melee that ensued during partition, the asylum inmates broke loose, drove away the villagers and established their own republic in Paglapur. And that's how it stayed for the next 60 years! While the world outside changed, Paglapur remained isolated, with no electricity, television or sanity!

The film also stars Minissha Lamba and Shreyas Talpade in key roles.

Aliens from Hollywood have come to India and how. The outer space creatures in writer-filmmaker Shirish Kunder's upcoming flick, Joker, seem to be closely inspired by their western counterparts. While one resembles sea creature Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean series, another resembles the aliens shown in recent blockbuster Men In Black 3. One of the dwarf alien in the Joker's poster, resembles the famous ET - the extra terrestrial.

Fans have given a tepid response. "Aliens don't wear zippers and LED lights Mr Kunder. Nakal k lie b akal chaie :p (you need brains to cheat)," posted Annu Agarwal on Facebook. "Just saw the poster of Joker...what were they thinking? shameless... stop copying Hollywood," tweeted Hanish Jindal.
