Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was named Timeless Style Icon in a recent poll while actors Sonam Kapoor and Akshay Kumar were chosen as Reader's Choice Style Icons. The actors won their respective titles through a contest that allowed readers of a leading daily to vote for their
favourite style icon. The winners were announced at an event - Mumbai's Most Stylish 2013 - held here Thursday night.

Actress Dia Mirza, who was present at the event, said a woman's grace adds to her beauty.

"There are very many individuals who I have always looked up to. Who I think carry (and carried) themselves with grace and elegance. There is Rekhaji, Shabana Azmi, Audrey Hepburn.... I think what makes a woman a style icon is not the labels or brands that she wears, but the way she carries herself, the grace that she has," said the former Miss Asia-Pacific.

Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh, Akshay, Sonam, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonali Bendre, Shahid Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Sridevi, Imran Khan and Anil Kapoor were present for the event.

"The Dirty Picture" actress Vidya Balan said it was important for people to have their own style.

"Style is something which you adopt and which adapts to you. If you accept yourself in a certain way, then everyone else will too. So never try to be like someone else," said the actress, whose fashion sense was under the scanner for a long time.

Shahid said his personal stylist is his style icon.

"My style icon is the man who dresses me. He is my fashion police. He will never let me go out in something which I don't look good in. I used to wear tight clothes, but then it was explained to me that this is not cool," he said.
