Director Anurag Kashyap
In order to give his next production, Lunchbox, more global appeal, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is roping in some heavy duty international expertise. Apart from having brought Dar Motion Pictures on board, Anurag is now collaborating with two Hollywood producers —Lydia Pilcher (producer of The
Reluctant Fundamentalist, 2012; and The Namesake, 2006) and Cedomir Kolar (producer of the Oscar-winning film, No Man’s Land, 2001) — for the movie.

A source close to the film reveals, “This collaboration will make sure the movie matches international standards. It is primarily a love story set in Mumbai. It revolves around a young housewife and a middle-aged man. Their bond, somehow, is triggered by the wrong delivery of one in eight million lunch boxes that the city’s famous dabbawallas distribute every day.”

According to the source, a major portion of the film, which stars Irrfan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nimrit Kaur in the lead roles, has already been wrapped up. “I’m not aware of the details of the collaboration, but I’m sure it will all turn out to be good. We’ve finished shooting for it too,” says Nawaz, who has previously worked with Anurag on the Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012) films.

Meanwhile, Arun Rangachari, chairman, Dar Motion Pictures confirms the the collaboration, saying, “We have partnered with best talent from across the globe for it.” Anurag adds, “The film brings together the best of Irrfan and Nawazuddin’s talent.”
