Anushka Sharma is busy shooting for Yash Chopra's untitled film in Srinagar. Here's a glimpse.
She is five films old and has already made her mark with the characters she has portrayed. Actor Anushka Sharma says she does roles that are relatable. “I take up roles that I grew up watching — those of Rani (Mukerji) and Kajol. The idea has always been to play relatable characters, people have
liked whatever roles I’ve done so far because either these have been different or been relatable and relatability (of the audience) comes from performance,” said the 24-year-old, who was recently in the Capital to launch the Joy Skin Fruits Face Wash.

“So I’m doing roles that I idolise and hope I’m able to do the same for others (aspiring actors).” added the actor, who now has four plum projects in her kitty — Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Peekay and Bombay Velvet. “What is exciting is that I’m working with four different directors now. And the fact that all four of them have taken me in their films makes me believe that I’m versatile. I’m more excited about that as an actor,” she said.

When asked if awards matter to her as an actor, she said, “For me, the only reason an award is exciting is because if I win one, my parents feel really happy and get calls from all my relatives across the country, and I’m very close to my parents and family.”
