Actor Chitrangada Singh, who is married to golfer Jyoti Singh Randhawa, says being emotionally satisfied in a relationship is extremely important to her, and it’s the same for her on-screen character Anushka in her upcoming film — I, Me aur Main.
“Anushka is very similar to me because even when Kapil Sharma, who is a first-time director, narrated the script to me, he also said, ‘Think of her (Anushka) as similar to yourself. I know from outside you are very composed and in control’,” says the 36-year-old. “But somewhere inside, I think I am so much Anushka, because like her, relationships are very important to me. To feel satisfied emotionally is extremely important to me,” she adds.
The movie, releasing March 1, also features actors John Abraham and Prachi Desai.
Chitrangada said though John plays a selfish man in the movie, his character is adorable. “It is a very adorable character. Even though he is a jerk, he is a very adorable jerk. He does not know how mean and selfish he is, and does not realise what he is doing,” she says.
Since the film has been produced by John, we ask Chitrangada about the actor as a producer. “Sometimes, he is very caring on the sets, as he is the co-producer of the film. He was very involved with the film, music and marketing,” she says.
“He is a full-fledged producer now, so he understands all of that and takes the responsibility. It was a lot of fun. He is a very easy guy,” he adds.
