Producer Bharat Shah has sent a legal notice to director Ram Gopal Varma over his dues. RGV's Satya sequel might also be in trouble as Shah, who was the producer of the film is reportedly not keen on giving the go-ahead, reports a daily.

Shah has lodged the complaint with Association of Motion Pictures and Television Programme Producers (AMPTPP). Ramu got Rs. 10 crore from Shah and the amount has doubled over the years. The filmmaker apparently has refused to pay the interest.

Atul Mankame, advocate for AMPTPP told the daily: "Mr Shah had lodged a complaint against Mr Varma to recover his money. The filmmaker had responded by filing a suit against him in the City Civil Court, Dindoshi. Last year, the Honourable Court referred the matter to AMPTPP. It's been a year and Mr Varma's office has not reverted on the issue. So, AMPTPP issued a notice to Mr Varma, asking him to contact the association in person or through his representative."

Ramu's Satya also seem to be in troubled waters due to the controversy. "As a producer of Satya, Bharat bhai has the right to the film and its title. RGV can't make a sequel without a go-ahead from Bharat bhai. And considering their legal dispute, it's going to be difficult to obtain permission from the financier-producer," the source told the daily.

After delivering a spate of flops like Department, Not a Love Story and Agyaat, Ram Gopal Varma announced the sequel to one of his most successful movies Satya. While the first part featured Chakravarthy, Manoj Bajpai and Urmila Matondkar, the sequel will have a new cast. John Abraham though not starring in the film, would produce it.

"Satya was the story of one guy among thousands of people who keep coming to Mumbai everyday which primarily means that there are that many stories to tell provided that they are as interesting or more," the filmmaker shared on Twitter.
