Soha Ali Khan, born to Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, began her career in Bollywood with Dil Maange More in 2004.
Family lineage usually helps one get a break in Bollywood, but it was actor Soha Ali Khan's royal ancestry that won her a role in director-producer Tigmanshu Dhulia's next, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns. Soha plays Irrfan's wife in the film, and most of the characters have a royal
connection. And the director reveals that she fit the bill perfectly. "She has a persona which reflects her family lineage. I have tried casting people who are close to their characters. Her royal ancestry was one of the reasons to cast her in that role," says Tigmanshu.

The director believes that this makes his job easier and has maintained this process since his first film, Haasil (2003). "I cast Ashutosh Rana for the role of a politician because he had that kind of grip on the language. It makes the character more convincing," says Tigmanshu, whose film is co-produced by Rahul Mittra and Viacom 18.

The sequel of the 2011 hit retains actor Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill. Set in north India, the film revolves around royal families and their political games.
