Akshay Kumar talks about cultural terrorism, Special 26
Akshay Kumar’s next, Special 26, is generating a buzz among audiences for its innovative promotional strategies. The film’s actors Manoj Bajpayee, Jimmy Shergill and Anupam Kher’s stern avatars are also being talked about. And now, Akshay is all set to meet CBI officials and even host a
press conference with them as part of the promotional campaign, since the movie deals with a real-life incident in which conmen posed as fake CBI officials.

A source close to the film says, “Special 26 is based on an incident in which a group of people impersonated CBI officials and raided politicians and businessmen. All the promos and theatrical trailers show the conflict between fake and real CBI officials.”

The source adds, “Some CBI officials have spoken to the producers and requested them to add a disclaimer on all the film’s publicity material and posters.”
Apparently, the makers were more than willing to add this disclaimer as they thought the poster was a great medium to spread awareness about the menace.

“Now, Akshay will conduct a press conference with these officials and shed light on their involvement in cases and how they’re always there for citizens, if help is needed. It was their request to have Akshay on board to do this,” the source says. The film, also starring Kajal Aggarwal, hits theatres on February 8.
