An insider reveals, “Bhansali is a tough task master and he wants everything to be perfect. He didn’t want Deepika and Ranveer to start shooting without knowing each other well, which would affect their on-screen chemistry. So he got both of them to do a workshop before the shoot.”
After Cocktail’s success, Deepika is clearly thrilled to bag Bhansali’s film, which is said to be a Gujarati version of the famous Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet.
Her manager says, “Every day, Deepika has been devoting more than 12 hours to the workshop. She and Ranveer did not even know each other socially before this project. As Bhansali has been very particular about rehearsals, she has been rehearsing
dialogues, scenes and is finalising her look for the film, which will roll in the first week of September.”

Bhansali, who is the director, producer and writer for the film, is returning to romance with this venture — a breakaway from his dramatic films like Devdas (2002) and Guzaarish (2010).
Deepika and Ranveer were recently spotted together at the screening of Bhansali’s production Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi. A report also claimed that the two met at the coffee shop of a suburban hotel in the middle of the night recently.
