After signing Priyanka for Kaminey and Saat Khoon Maaf, the maverick director is not repeating her in his next. The filmmaker has signed Deepika Padukone for his upcoming venture opposite Saif Ali Khan. If sources are to be believed, Vishal was initially keen on roping in Priyanka for this project as well. A source tells Mumbai Mirror, "There were reports that said Vishal had already signed Priyanka after he was impressed with her work in Kaminey and Saat Khoon Maaf. But Vishal has secretly been meeting Deepika in the meantime and has finally signed her for his next film, which will have Saif Ali Khan play the lead role opposite her."

Deepika confirms having signed Vishal Bhardwaj's film. She wrote on her Twitter page. "Yes its true! signed a film with vishal bhardwaj!I'm really really excited...he's a genius!!:-)"

The director loved Deepika's work in Love Aaj Kal and Karthik Calling Karthik.
