Vikram Bhatt's Raaz 3 might have opened to mixed reviews, but looks like the film has appealed to the viewers. The movie has grossed Rs. 11 cr at the box office. And guess what! It's Emraan and Bipasha's biggest opener ever.
"#Raaz3 *India* Thu previews 58 lacs, Fri 10.47 cr. Total: 11.05 cr nett. Extra-ordinary. Bhatts, Emraan & @bipsluvurself 's biggest opener!" tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
"Raaz 3 showed a pretty good opening at the Indian box office. The movie as expected is doing better at single screen theaters than that of multiplexes. Average occupancy in single screens was somewhere around 80% whereas that of in multiplexes about 60%. Since the movie also released in 3D the 3D screens are having a better footfall than the 2D ones," reports Koimoi.com.
"Circuits where the movies did pretty well ranged from Rajasthan, Bihar, CPCI and Nizam. On the other hand Metros like Delhi & Mumbai showed considerably poor footfall. The fact that the movie is doing well in the bigger film circuits, should guarantee the movie a good Day 1 box office," added the trade website.
"#Raaz3 trends: S screens/heartland/mass-dominated circuits 80% to 85%, urban centres 45% to 55%... 3D version 90%... Thu previews 58 lacs," tweets Adarsh.
Adarsh is all praise for Emraan and Bipasha's performance in the film. "#Raaz was a turning point in @bipsluvurself 's career and #Raaz3 should mark the commencement of a fresh phase for this gifted actress," says Adarsh.
"#Murder2, #TheDirtyPicture, #Jannat2 and now #Raaz3. Emraan Hashmi has proved, time and again, he's a crowd puller!" added Adarsh.
"#Raaz3 opening at places, specifically in Rajasthan, is at par with #EkThaTiger. Yes, you read it right!" says Adarsh.
The film is one of the biggest openers of 2012.
"Raaz khul gaya... #Raaz3 opens to extraordinary response. One of the biggest starts of 2012," Adarsh's another tweet read.
Critics report: Raaz 3 gets mixed reviews, Bipasha steals the show
The first half of Raaz 3 is not bad. Talking about the horror part in the film, we definitely aren't scared to death. Bipasha Basu steals the show left, right and center as Shanaya; Emraan and Esha are average, say critics. REVIEWS INSIDE
HT's review: Raaz 3
What do film stars with waning mojos do when they fail to win awards? Swig whisky on the rocks and wallow in self-pity? Raaz 3’s megalomaniac, mantra-reciting, tacky-costume-wearing heroine Shanaya (Bipasha Basu) plays out those clichés, in front of a giant photograph of herself no less, before she seeks out the devil. Raaz 3 number copied from Arabic song
Promos of the third Raaz film have barely begun and the very first song already has a black mark against it. The tune of Deewana Kar Raha Hai is not only 'inspired' from an Arabic number but is also utterly boring. COMPARE INSIDE
Esha Gupta ignores Raaz 3 makers
Esha Gupta’s career is just one film old, but there’s already trouble brewing for the actor. The makers of her second film, Raaz 3, in which she will be seen alongside Bipasha Basu, seem to have been ignoring Esha. The actor was nowhere to be seen on the film’s first poster, which was launched earlier this month. Upset, she chose not to attend the launch of the film’s trailer last night. STORY INSIDE
Raaz 3 gets murkier as Ameesha turns inspiration for Bipasha
Last couple of days have seen Ameesha Patel's name being dragged into the promotional campaign of Raaz 3. While it has been made to believe that the film is based on her real life story with Vikram Bhatt, it has been hinted that Bipasha Basu is actually reprising the role of another has-been heroine who faded away in the early 80s. If sources are to be believed, case files have indicated that this ex-actress was rumoured to be indulging in black magic. Since 'jaadu tona' also happens to be the theme of Raaz 3 with Bipasha enacting the role of a fading superstar, one has all the right reasons to be suspicious. READ ON
Raaz 3 makers prefer Bipasha to Esha
Esha Gupta may be a Vishesh Films protégé, thanks to them giving her a big break in Jannat 2 opposite Emraan Hashmi, and then taking her on board for Raaz 3, replacing Jacqueline Fernandez in the film. But the Bhatts are in no mood to promote her this time around. Despite having shot with her for a poster for Raaz 3, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt chose to release the one without Esha, as he believes Bipasha Basu is a better bet for the first look. MORE INSIDE
