Cap of good hope: Himesh Reshammiya gets it right with white.
These days, he is in the news for Kismet Love Paisa Dilli, which releases today. But a few days ago, Vivek Oberoi’s old tiff with Salman Khan came to the fore again after a long time, thanks to Himesh Reshammiya. It was reported that the music composer had walked out of Soham Shah’s upcoming Sher
as the project also stars Vivek.
The actor wasn’t pleased about it, but maintained a stoic silence after the story broke. “He shot for Sher for six months and now that the film is complete, Himesh has suddenly realised that Vivek is a part of it,” says an insider close to the actor.
We’ve also learnt that Himesh had earlier recorded a song for the film while Vivek was shooting for it in Jaipur at the same time. “Himesh was aware of all the announcements that were being made (about the film). Now, he is trying to win brownie points by leaving the film for reasons best known to him. It’s clear that he is trying to impress Salman,” adds the insider. Vivek, on his part, makes an indirect reference to the Dabangg (2010) star by saying, “I don’t know who Himesh is trying to please. What was he doing making songs for six months when he knew that I was shooting for the film? Was he sleeping? This is ridiculous.”
The Other Side
When asked to comment, Himesh Reshammiya says that he “doesn’t want to react” to what Vivek Oberoi has stated. But insiders close to the music composer add that when he was signed up for Sher, he was told that it would star Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt, not Vivek. “He agreed to do the film because he holds Sanjay in high regard. We wouldn’t like to make any official comment about it,” says an associate of the composer.
