Ajay Devgn, Himmatwala
The classic matka song ‘Naino Mein Sapna’ picturised on actors Jitendra and Sridevi in the movie Himmatwala (1983), was sung by late singer, Kishore Kumar. And, now his son Amit Kumar has sung the new version of the song in Sajid Khan’s remake of Himmatwala, starring actor Ajay Devgn and newbie
Tamanna.

The original song had become a rage in the 80s and Sajid says he could not think of anyone else to sing the song other than Kishore Da’s son.

When asked about roping in Amit for the song, Sajid said, “Re-recording ‘Naino Mein Sapna’ for me was like being a part of history. Never before has a song been sung in a style which was rendered by Amit’s father 30 years ago. When Amit started singing Kishore da’s lines, it was almost like Kishore da had come alive to sing the song for us. There was only one Kishore Kumar and there will be only one Amit Kumar. I am sure my film will be a superhit. No one but these set of actors could have done these roles.”

Music directors Sajid-Wajid have recreated the music of the evergreen song, while singer Shreya Ghoshal has lent her voice for the female part of the number.
