Technology makes action safer, not easier: Hrithik Roshan
Technology may have made action safer but not easier, says Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, known as much for his superbly executed action stunts in films and ads as for his acting. Action in Bollywood films was of the dhishoom, dhishoom variety till the 1990s, but advanced technology and increased use of special effects brought in a new twist. "Action is not easier (with better technology). Maybe it is safer," the actor told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
Hrithik has done films like Mission Kashmir, Krrish, Dhoom 2 and Agneepath, all of which gave him ample scope to demonstrate the daredevilry that has won him so many fans. He recently wrapped up the action-packed Krrish 3, and even jumped off a cliff in Bali for an ad for aerated drink Mountain Dew. HRITHIK SPEAKS
Hrithik Roshan turns trainer for Vivek Oberoi
Vivek Oberoi, who plays the part of a supervillain in director-producer Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 3, is all praise for his co-star Hrithik Roshan. The film’s lead actor has been helping Vivek train for all the heavy-duty action sequences in the third instalment of the superhero franchise.
“Hrithik has so much more experience when it comes to shooting with wires. He taught me the body language that is required for the role and told me all about the nuances required for the scenes. He has worked with the same team in the past, so he understands their directions a lot better,” says Vivek.
The two actors are working with a special team of trainers, who were flown in from China especially for the action sequences in the film. Along with the physical aspect of the training, Hrithik also sat patiently with Vivek and resolved all the queries he had. READ ON
Krrish on TV
The west is known for adapting their films from popular animation series, but Rakesh Roshan plans on reversing the trend in India. The filmmaker has joined hands with Cartoon Network to make his popular film franchise, Krrish (2006) into four animation films that will be aired this year.
Rakesh says, “Cartoon Network, my production house Film Kraft Productions and Toonz Animation will come together to create these four movies.” The films are not remakes of the original, but will be spin-offs that revolve around the life of an 11-year-old Krrish. “They will show Krrish discovering his powers and he will be seen with his mom, dad and granny, and even Jaadu. We wanted to keep all the characters from the films in this series,” explains Rakesh. COMPLETE STORY
