Family bonding! Aamir Khan and nephew Imran Khan look handsome in black.
Aamir Khan brought the Mumbai
tapori
into the limelight with his roles in Rangeela (1995) and Ghulam (1998). Now, 14 years later, nephew Imran Khan is following in his uncle’s footsteps by playing a similar character in Milan Luthria’s sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaii (2010), where

Imran Khan to build muscles for Sonakshi
he stars alongside Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.
“Imran has agreed to sport the tapori look. Shahid Kapoor was earlier signed to play the character, but the role eventually went to Imran,” says a source from the film’s sets.
Imran is currently on a month-long break in Europe. The film will go on the floors in a couple of months and the actor is going to make sure he leaves no stone unturned in terms of understanding his role. He confirms, “My character belongs to the underbelly of Mumbai. So I will try and meet a few people to observe their body language and pick up nuances of their dialect.”
Talking about Imran’s preparation, the source adds, “Imran was very enthusiastic about being part of the process of deciding his look and how his character shapes up.”
The actor adds, “I will be working very closely with Milan Sir to get under the skin of the character.” In his short career, Imran has already been experimental in his choice of roles, working in a variety of movies including Delhi Belly (2011), Luck (2009) and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012). He recently completed shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola, in which he plays a Haryanavi boy who speaks a very difficult lingo.
Whether Imran will draw inspiration from his uncle Aamir and sport the quintessential tapori outfit of kajal, neck scarf and loose fitting shirt tied at the waist, is something his fans will have to wait to find out.
