Jalandhar is where Yash Chopra spent his formative years. That's the town where Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma visited on Wednesday to promote Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ) and to inaugurate a new media course in the distinguished director's name at the Doaba College in Jalandhar where
Yashji studied.

Apparently, Jalandhar was where Yashji's most yummy youthful yearnings were ensconced. According to a source close to Yash Chopra before his death, he had expressed a wish to visit his hometown with team of JTHJ.

According to Yashraj's spokesperson, "We were to start our promotions for JTHJ with Yashji taking his cast to Jalandhar. This is their tribute to him."

We hear the journey back to Yashji's roots was an extremely emotional one for SRK, Katrina and Anushka.

Katrina, we hear, was specially moved. "She had become lately very attached to Yashji, almost the father figure missing from her own life. During the long shooting schedules in London, Yashji would sit and talk about life with Katrina. He would take genuine interest in her life; ask about her family, her home, and her dreams. She had never shared a rapport like this with anyone."

The journey to Jalandhar left the core cast of JTHJ shaken to the core. Yashji's sons Aditya and Uday Chopra were conspicuously absent from the entourage.

The explanation being offered by someone close to the family is, "Adi is not likely to make public appearances, no matter how strong the incentive. As for Uday, he is personally supervising all the details of the JTHJ premiere on Monday. Shah Rukh, Katrina and Anushka were as attached to Yashji as Adi and Uday. For that matter Karan Johar has taken the blow (Yashji's death) very hard. Any of them are perfectly qualified to represent Yashji at any occasion."
