Kai Po Che! is a film based on Chetan Bhagat's novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life directed by Abhishek Kapoor. Check out more stills.
Kai Po Che, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, saw the launch of three young faces — Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav. The film, which was made on a budget of just Rs. 12crore, has passed the test at the box-office. In four days, the film has managed to get in Rs. 21.25crore.

Ask trade analyst Taran Adarsh about the film’s success and he says, “Excellent start for a film that does not boast of star names. It passes the ‘Monday exam’.” Likewise, trade analyst Komal Nahta says, “Kai Po Che is a wonderfully made and enacted film, but its appeal is limited.”

The movie, which is directed by the Rock On!! (2008) director, Abhishek Kapoor was hugely appreciated in Gujarat too (that’s where it has been set). “Kai Po Che is a great victory for UTV on various fronts. The fantastic collections over the weekend (among the best for a non-starrer film in a while) and the sustenance over the weekdays are a result of the right decisions taken in the context of content, marketing and distribution,” says film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi, adding, “The film has harnessed the interest of the youth and capitalised on it as well. If the release had not coincide with the 12th standard board exams, the collections would have been even better.”
