She made a successful Bollywood debut with Ajay Devgn in Singham (2011). And now, southern star Kajal Aggarwal, is set to star in Neeraj Pandey’s Special Chabbis. The actor will be seen playing a schoolteacher opposite Akshay Kumar.

“Among 26 male characters, I am the only girl,” says Kajal with a smile. “It has been great working with a big star like Akshay. After working with Ajay in Singham, I have realised that both of them are extremely professional in their approach. You get to learn a lot from the way they work,” she adds.

The actor reveals that she is taking inspiration from yesteryear actor Rati Agnihotri for her part as a simple girl. “I have watched her films Coolie (1983) and Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981). I have always felt that she played the role of a simple girl effortlessly” says Kajal, adding, “But I’m not copying her in the film. She’s just a reference point.”

Kajal is also happy that some of her south Indian films like Magadheera (2009), Brindaavanam (2010) and Business Man (2012) are soon to be remade in Hindi. “If the film has done well down south, why not experiment with it in other regions? It feels good to see my films being remade in Bollywood,” she says.
