Hassan also plans to cast Waheeda Rehman and Anant Mahadevan.

Vishwaroopam turned out to be a controversial film that was released only after two weeks of its scheduled released due to protests against it.

Hassan had earlier told PTI, "I don't make film for publicity rather I want my film to be enjoyed by my audience. Generally, people wait for a year and then decide a film's sequel. But, I was sure from the beginning that I will bring the second part too. Vishwaroopam 2 is not my arrogance rather it is my confidence. I had written the film in two parts and wanted to tell my audience the complete story. We decided to do in a two parts so that individually both the parts can work."

Earlier this month, Pooja Kumar wrote on Twitter, "(I) just arrived back to New York City (NYC) from shooting in Bangkok with 'Vishwaroopam 2' team. I did all my underwater stunts as I am a certified scuba diver."
