Four renowned directors — Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee — have come together to make Bombay Talkies, a film that celebrates 100 years of Indian cinema. The short film compilation has caught the people’s attention since its announcement mainly because of the four big talents coming together for the first time. Now, we have learnt that Karan is putting in added effort to make sure that the film is marketed well.
The director is known to make larger-than-life family dramas such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and doesn’t fail to promote his films well. He is now leaving no stone unturned to market Bombay Talkies as well. “In the several meetings that the producers and the four directors have had to ideate on different ways to promote the film, Karan has given some innovating and interesting ideas. His ideas, most of the time, have received positive reactions from the producers and other directors,” says a spokesperson from the film’s team.
Moreover, Karan is also taking the final calls for all the promotional activities that will take place in the coming days. “Karan has immense experience in marketing his films, so he lands up having the last say,” adds the spokesperson.
