Kareena gets the brandwagon for Heroine
Women-centric films have caught the right attention in recent times, thanks to unique content and strong roles. But for Heroine, Kareena Kapoor has gone a step ahead and managed to bring as many as eight brands on board - said to be the most for any female-oriented Hindi movie so far.

According to industry sources, an estimate of at least Rs.20 crore of brand-spends will be blocked for promotions of Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, releasing on September 21.

Lakme, Head and Shoulders and Monarch Universal are the brands Kareena endorses and have associated with the film, apart from others like Cera, Rupa, Jealous21, Sugar Free and Cocoberry which have come on board for in-film integration and various media associations. MORE ON THIS

NEW SONG:  Saaiyaan from Kareena's Heroine delights
Madhur Bhandarkar hasn't really needed strong music for his films, for he compensates for everything that his movie lacks in his plot, direction and acting.

For his movie Fashion (2008), there were two very strong songs in the film that eventually came to become big musical hits- Kuch Khaas Hai and Mar Jaawan.

This time around, it seems that Madhur Bhandarkar had to focus on music, given that his upcoming movie, Heroine, is about an Indian film industry or Bollywood actress, and Bollywood is defined by its songs.

And he has focussed pretty well. REVIEW INSIDE

Kareena Kapoor ups brand value

Brands have long been associated with films — an actor picks up a can of cola, making sure that the brand name faces the camera; or the leading lady only wears clothes sold at a certain store. But now, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine, starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to take this association to a whole new level by getting eight brands on board.

No female-centric film so far has featured so many brands. While some of them — Lakme, Head & Shoulders and Monarch Universal – are brands that Kareena herself endorses, other brands like Cera, Rupa, Jealous 21, Sugarfree and Cocoberry will be integrated in the film and associated with its promotional activities.
