Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal in a song from their upcoming movie Special Chabbis that releases on February 8.
It is a feather in director Neeraj Pandey’s cap that senior member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lal Krishna Advani is all praise for his recent release Special 26. The accolades came when Advani’s daughter Pratibha recently gifted him and his wife Kamla, a special screening of the film at
the Mahadev Road Auditorium in Delhi for their 53rd wedding anniversary.

Advani, who also liked Neeraj’s directorial debut A Wednesday (2008), watched the film with a few of his friends.

“When my daughter Pratibha saw Special 26, she, knowing that I had liked Neeraj’s first film A Wednesday, recommended this second movie as well. She said, ‘Since it’s February and your wedding anniversary (February 25) is special for you and mom, why not have a show for your friends?’ And that is how our family and friends enjoyed the film that day,” said the 85-year-old leader.

Advani sounded quite familiar with Neeraj’s career as he critically appreciated the film, drawing comparisons with the director’s debut movie. “After being away from the film scene for four years, Pandey has produced yet another thriller in the form of Special 26. This second film has one advantage over Neeraj’s debut film — that it is based on an actual event that took place in 1987,” said the veteran politician.
