Sonam with Farhan: Sonam Kapoor will be seen playing the love interest of Farhan Akhtar in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, the biopic on the former Indian athlete Milkha Singh. She's also teaming up with Ayushmann Khurana in YRF's next to be directed by Nupur Asthana. She will also be seen opposite Tamil actor Dhanush in Ranjhana.
Certain scenes of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag left veteran athlete Milkha Singh feeling rather nostalgic a few weeks ago. No, not because he was watching his own life story being enacted on the big screen, but because of Sonam Kapoor. Apparently, the Aisha (2010) actor shares an uncanny resemblance to
Milkha's ex-girlfriend, who had first inspired him to become an athlete.

"A few minutes into the film, he realised that Sonam looks a lot like his former girlfriend. Her character too, he felt, was well-etched," says a source. "He is glad that Sonam has been cast in the role of the female lead opposite Farhan Akhtar (who plays Milkha in the movie). That is why he wants to meet her."

Meanwhile, the icon is happy with the way the film is shaping up. The source says, "He is delighted with whatever little he has watched of the film. He thinks Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (director) has done justice to his life story by depicting it in a manner that's so close to reality." The film's lead actor, Farhan, who has transformed himself physically to look the part, has already begun receiving positive reviews for his effort ever since the trailer was released. "Milkha knows that Farhan had to put in two years of extensive training to achieve the muscular-yet-lean physique. He has even grown his hair to resemble the athelete, and Milkha appreciated that about him," reveals the source.

Bollywood biggie Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor made headlines right from the start.
She made her debut along with fellow debutant Ranbir Kapoor and looked ethereal against the dramatic backdrop of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s noir film Saawariya (2007).
