After ‘miserably losing’, the Celebrity Cricket League team promises to do well next year. Actor Salman Khan has declared that his Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) team, Mumbai Heroes, will come back with a bang in the second season.

“Last time we did not make it. Every time we lost a match, we used  to discuss how we would destroy those guys in the next game. But we still lost miserably. This year, we will try to perform well,” said the 45-year-old actor, addressing a press conference in Dubai to announce CCL’s plans to head to the UAE.

The league is scheduled to be held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on January 13 and 14, next year. The Bodyguard actor also revealed the line-up of Mumbai Heroes along with its brand ambassadors — actors Kangna Ranaut, Sonakshi Sinha and Genelia D’Souza — at the star-studded function.

Salman will not play in the match this season due to medical reasons.

He, however, will be apresent on the sidelines cheering his boys. Actor Sohail Khan, who owns Mumbai Heroes, is also optimistic about his team’s future and says they will soon start working on their fielding attack.

“Cricket and cinema are the two religions among Indians. And we have grown up watching Indo-Pakistan games — I still remember the six hit by Javed Miandad at Sharjah stadium. Therefore, Sharjah is the perfect place to host CCL. We are taking this seriously, and we will begin rigorous practice sessions soon,” says Sohail, adding, “We promise to keep it reasonable because it’s all about entertaining the masses and bringing people from different states together.”
