“I always wanted to be an actor. My father (producer Kumar Taurani) gave me this opportunity and I wanted to make the most of it. I’ve given my all to
this film, since my childhood dream of becoming an actor has finally come to realisation with this project,” says Girish.
“Prabhu sir (director Prabhu Deva) realised that I am hardworking and have the potential. The only thing I needed to do was practice dancing. And I practiced for a year. After every two weeks, I used to send DVDs to Prabhu sir for his feedback,” the 23-year-old adds.
Talking about the movie, Girish says, “The film’s title, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, in Telegu means ‘Ram will you come?’ The movie touches your heart and the whole family can enjoy it.”
About his character in the movie, the actor says, “I play Ram — an extrovert and a mischievous guy — in the movie. He falls in love with Sona (which is played by actor Shruti Haasan) and will do anything for her.”
And how was the experience of working with Shruti? “We had a very good time, we shot for 100 days and time passed by quickly,” says Girish.
