Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif have done it, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone did it and even Aamir Khan has kissed many of his co-stars on-screen. But although lip-locks are becoming usual in Bollywood films, kissing scenes between same-sex couples still create a buzz.
The most recent among these is Sandhya Mridul and Sunny Leone’s smooch in the film Ragini MMS 2. Interestingly, the kiss was supposed to happen between Sunny and Neetu Chandra.
Originally, Neetu was asked to play Sandhya’s part, but shying away from kissing Sunny in the film, she turned down the offer made by producer Ekta Kapoor.
“Ekta offered the role to Neetu before signing on anybody else. Although, she respects Ekta a lot for the kind of movies that she makes, Neetu turned down the offer as she did not want to kiss a girl on-screen.
There is no other reason for her not being a part of the film,” says a source close to the actor.
However, the actor’s refusal — and the reason for the same — did not offend the filmmaker. “I couldn’t do the film and I explained my reason to Ekta. She was really wonderful to understand my reason and I really respect her,” says Neetu.
Neetu also doesn’t want to do any scenes on the same lines in the future. “Although, Neetu would do kissing scenes with her male co-stars, if the scripts demands it, she will never be seen kissing a girl in any film. She is too shy for such acts,” adds the source.
