Actor Nargis Fakhri, who will next be seen in the political thriller Madras Cafe, essays the role of a war journalist reporting on a crisis between two countries.

And we hear that the lady has gone daredevil while shooting the film. Nargis was to be part of an underwater action sequence for which director Shoojit Sircar recommended having a body double. However, the actor insisted on performing the stunt herself.

The 33-year-old  actor went ahead and gave several retakes before the scene was okayed despite being ill, impressing everyone with her dedication. Says a source, “Madras Cafe will introduce audiences to Nargis Fakhri —the actor. The film showcases her acting prowess well. There are several intense high-drama scenes that she’s performed effortlessly. Apart from that, she insisted on doing her stunts herself which impressed everyone, especially since this is just her second film in Bollywood.”

Nargis debuted with the film, Rockstar, in 2011. Madras Cafe, directed by Shoojit Sircar, also stars John Abraham, and is scheduled to release on August 23.
