After getting positive reviews, Akshay Kumar-Paresh Rawal's OMG Oh My God! has collected over Rs. 16 crore over the weekend. The film that did not open well on Friday picked up on Saturday and Sunday after getting positive word of mouth, according to trade reports.

"Despite the film’s central protagonist being Paresh Rawal, OMG Oh My God! has managed collections of over 16 crores in the first weekend," reports Koimoi.com.

OMG"Great news to start the day. #OMG biz picks up and how! Sunday numbers are double of Friday in most circuits," tweeted trade expert Taran Adarsh.

"Much of these collections have to be attributed to some positive feedback that started coming its way once the film opened on Friday. This means that even though the opening wasn’t as strong (one expected at least 50% footfalls but it was much lesser at around 30%-40% mark), Saturday and then Sunday saw good escalation coming its way," according to Koimoi.com.

CRITICS' TAKE
Critics verdict: OMG Oh My God! a clean movie with a social message
OMG – Oh My God! carries a social message, a significant one, but the best part is, it does so without losing the wit and humor. It takes some amount of guts on the part of the directors and producers Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, to point out certain religious beliefs that people hold on to, feel critics. REVIEW INSIDE

HT's review
OMG Oh My God! is about something that touches all our lives - religion. It is a film about our relationship with God, how instead of being God-loving, we
have become God-fearing. How religion has become a business run by godmen (here aptly referred to as 'salesmen') who aren't in fact very spiritual at all. A note to atheists and agnostics - the film is not an endorsement of those views. It insists on the existence of God. ANUPAMA CHOPRA'S TAKE
