Ever since the shoot of UTV Motion Pictures’ Ghanchakkar, starring Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan, began, the makers have been facing crowd trouble while shooting at real locations in the city. First, it was Emraan getting mobbed (at Ghatkopar railway station) and then a shoot had to be stopped in Panvel after fans gathered for a glimpse of Vidya.

So now, the makers have decided to shoot all their outdoor scenes at night. This decision was made after a recent incident involving the team. A source close to the production house says, “Emraan was shooting over the weekend on the Eastern Express Highway. The shoot had the actor walking on the highway towards a car, getting in and then driving off. Some people spotted him and soon there was a crowd. In an hour’s time, thousands of people had gathered. That further led to a traffic jam, thus halting all movement in the area.”

The source adds that though the director, Rajkumar Gupta managed to shoot all the scenes with Emraan, it was decided to discontinue shoots on Mumbai’s streets during the day. The source adds, “The movie is based in Mumbai, and Rajkumar prefers shooting at real locations. Thankfully, they’ve already shot most of the day scenes, so they will now rework things to make it possible to shoot at night.”

Ask Rajkumar and he says, "It is true that we are shooting in the night now. We have some outdoor sequences with Emraan left and shifting to night schedules will make it easy avoid any confusion and traffic snarls.”
