After Rowdy Rathore and Singham more magic from South is being spun. Continuing the blockbuster trend, Bollywood big leaguers are set to stun in a series of regional remakes. Aamir, Salman, Ajay, Kareena, all gear to get a bellyful of this pie.
Here're some South remakes that are vying to carry on the tradition:
David is a forthcoming action-thriller film directed by Bejoy Nambiar, starring Vikram, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Vinay Virmani in the titular roles, alongside Tabu, Lara Dutta and Isha Sharvani.
David is an altered version of Tamil film with the same title featuring a slightly different cast.
The promos of Bejoy Nambiar's David have created quite a buzz ever since they launched. The film stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinay Virmani and Vikram in the lead roles and incidentally all of them are called David in the film. As an American banker staying over in Mumbai for a while, Monica Dogra made a non-glam start to her Bollywood career in Dhobi Ghat. However she has gone through a transformation of sorts in David where she has turned retro in the 70s setting of London.
Bejoy Nambiar's David lands in trouble
David seems to have landed itself in trouble. The Sindhi community has objected to the use of the popular folk song, Dama Dam Mast Kalandar, claiming that the way it is portrayed in the movie sends out a wrong message. They have requested the makers, Reliance Entertainment Limited, and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to take it off the air. READ ON

Sajid Nadiadwala to shoot both Kick and Housefull 3 in London
The Mayor of London Boris Johnson met up with a few leading filmmakers of Bollywood including Sajid Naidadwala in Mumbai earlier this week to ask them to shoot more films in the UK. Sajid was more than happy to accept the London Mayor's invitation to shoot in London and has decided that 2 of his forthcoming biggies namely Kick and Housefull 3 will be shot in London.
The Mayor of London was ecstatic when Sajid agreed whole-heartedly. "I loved the fact that Sajid Nadiadwala shot two editions of his film Housefull in UK and is coming back to London to shoot the third film in the franchise. I am also excited that he plans to shoot his maiden directorial venture Kick as well in London."
Excited about once again shooting in London, Sajid Nadiadwala said, "I love to shoot in London and the fact that I am back to shoot my third and fourth film there is proof that the place is great and I have no complaints. I just wish that they reduce the pound rate as compared to the rupee"
In 2013, Salman to keep his promise with Radhey and Kick
It was recently revealed that despite undergoing surgery in the US for his trigeminal neuralgia condition, Salman Khan is not fully cured. Due to this, doctors have prohibited him to do any more action sequences. Now this pretty much sent shock waves in the industry as each of his last six big successes, right from Wanted to Dabangg 2, have boasted of huge action.
"Salman has admitted that in order to keep his blood pressure in check, he has been advised against doing action sequences. However, in current scenario, he and action are synonymous to each other. Even during Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2, he was in quite some pain during heavy duty action sequences but continued to shoot for them", says a source. STORY INSIDE

Four years after the Aamir Khan-starring blockbuster Ghajini (2008), director AR Murugadoss is all set for his second Bollywood project — a remake of his own Tamil hit, Thuppaki. Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha will be seen in the lead roles.
The original Thupakki features Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal. The film was a hit in the South.
The script has apparently been tweaked to suit a pan-Indian audience.
Shahid Kapoor is set to undergo a transformation for UTV’s Hindi remake of the Tamil action venture, Vettai. Released this January, The Arya-R Madhavan starrer was produced by the same banner. Shahid is likely to play the part originally portrayed by Arya.
When contacted, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, UTV Motion Pictures’ CEO confirms: “Yes, we are in advanced discussions with Shahid, but till we make a formal announcement, I wouldn’t like to say much about the cast.” N Lingusamy will apparently direct the Hindi remake too, while Madhavan may also reprise his role.
Vettai revolves around two brothers — the younger one played by Arya, and the older, by Madhavan. While the latter is sensitive to violence, Arya is a jobless rogue. After being beaten up by goons, Madhavan becomes stronger, thanks to the training he receives from his younger brother. The two then get back at two goons and protect their family.
It has also been reported that Ali Zafar will be playing Shahid Kapoor's brother in the film.
Buzz is that after immense success of Ghajini, Aamir Khan is all set to work in another remake. 7am Arivu, a Tamil film starring Shruti Haasan and Surya as the lead pair, will have a Bollywood remake.
It is said that Aamir Khan has been cast opposite Shruti Haasan.
